There was a time when coffee making was a process made at home. Now, it's a weekend treat with much more advance tools. I love vintage things, it makes me imagine the people who used them. These objects were indispensable in their time, now, they're not needed. It actually hurts me to call them junk, someday my precious stuff will be junk to others. We strive to acquire things, sacrifice time with family, friends, nature, for goods that might not be so important in the long run. It's something to ponder.
"Early Barista" is one of my early works; originally named "Pre Starbucks", but changed it because I wasn't sure I could use the brand name, so just in case... It is one of those paintings that everyone loved, but nobody bought. I'm glad I still have it, it is now part of my "collection of the artist". I'm looking into getting prints available, working at finding the best quality at the most affordable price. Changing with the times, I think offering a more casual approach to owning art will appeal to more people. A print is less of a commitment and I want my work to be enjoyed.
As always, work in progress
